Aberdeen is a town in Moore County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 8,516 at the 2020 Census. Scottish emigrants were the first Europeans to settle the area beginning in 1745. They were drawn to the area by bountiful hunting and virgin land, and they founded the communities of Bethesda and Blue's Crossing by the late 18th Century.
