Specs for Rex is the story of a little lion who does not want to wear his new glasses to school. He tries to hide them, but it’s tricky hiding specs that are so big, round and red.

The Duchess of Edinburgh will read a bedtime story on CBeebies later this month to mark World Sight Day, following on from Kate Middleton's appearance on the children's show in 2022

A CBeebies Bedtime Story featuring HRH, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh will shine a light on children’s eye health and the importance of glasses on World Sight Day (10 October). Her Royal Highness will read Specs for Rex, written by Yasmeen Ismail, a story about a young lion who, initially reluctant to wear his new glasses, learns to embrace them.
