LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Chargers began the 2025 NFL draft by selecting North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton with the No. 22 pick in the first round on Thursday night, following up with their first pick on Friday to select Ole Miss wideout Tre Harris in the second round.

Harris had 60 receptions for 1,030 yards and seven touchdowns, and averaged 17.2 yards per catch during the 2024 season for the Rebels.

The Los Angeles Chargers selected North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton with their first-round pick. While that might seem mundane at first, it has a significant impact on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hampton is likely to eat into Najee Harris’ workload, and as a result, it could hurt the Steelers’ compensatory pick standing.
