The US and Israel have continued to strike Iran for a third day after the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran has launched extensive retaliatory strikes at neighbouring states that house US bases, including Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, and the UAE.

Questions remain over who will succeed Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who President Donald Trump and Iranian state media said was killed in U.S. and Israeli strikes.

The U.S. has released a joint statement with governments of Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE -- all countries impacted by retaliation from Iran over the weekend -- to say they "strongly condemn" the regime's "indiscriminate and reckless missile and drone attacks" on countries across the region.
