The Duke Blue Devils will see a familiar face when they play their first exhibition game of the new college basketball season. Former ACC player of the year Julius Hodge coaches Lincoln (Pa.).

Duke Basketball will kick off the 2024-2025 season as it often has over the years - facing an HBCU squad coached by Julius Hodge. Lincoln University, the reigning CIAA basketball champion, is set to play Duke on Saturday, Oct. 19 in an exhibition game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Division II HBCU is led by a man very familiar with Duke in Hodge.

At the time, now-third-year Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer was just a high school junior in Illinois. It wasn't until two months later that the eventual All-ACC guard in Durham, the starting point guard for the 2009-10 national champions, committed to Mike Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils.
