Kansas City winter storm: Heaviest snow to continue a few more hours
The heaviest snowfall in a decade is on its way to Kansas and Missouri, part of a major winter storm stretching 1,300 miles across the central United States that is set to impact up to 62 million, forecasters say. A large area of southern Ohio is under a winter storm warning until 11:59 p.m. Monday.
A state of emergency has been declared in five states, with the storm set to bring the coldest temperatures in over a decade.
Though some light snow was still falling Sunday night, KSHB 41 Weather's Wes Peery says the bulk of the storm has moved east, allowing observers to get out and measure how much snow fell.
