Measles cases are springing up across Orange County, with gym and theme park goers being warned of potential exposures. Over the past couple of weeks, two cases have been reported at the Disneyland Resort in the past month and two others in the OC area.
According to the CDC, measles symptoms appear seven to 14 days after contact with the virus and typically include high fever, cough, runny nose and watery eyes. Measles rash appears three to five days after the first symptoms. Koplik's spots, tiny white spots that may appear inside the mouth two to three days after symptoms begin.
State health officials note an outbreak of measles in Shasta County, and two recent cases that visited Disneyland.
Californians are being asked to check their immunization status and to get vaccinated against measles after an outbreak was reported in Shasta County, according to the
California reported its first confirmed measles outbreak since 2020 on Feb. 10. The highly contagious disease infected 2,276 people nationwide in 2025, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
