Michigan, along with rival Michigan State, kickstarted the outdoor hockey craze in North America in 2001, when they had that classic battle in East Lansing. Since then, the Wolverines are 4-4-1 in outdoor games. Ohio State is 1-4 in its first five outdoor games.

Only one more half stands between Michigan and the win they were favored to collect coming into this evening. After one quarter their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating Western Kentucky 59-31.
