The New York Jets will soon have a new head coach -- and it appears they are getting the guy they wanted all along.According to CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathon Jones, the Jets will hire Aaron Glenn, who just finished his fourth season as the defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions.

With Glenn going to New York, Johnson heading to Chicago and Mike Vrabel already in New England, four head coaching vacancies remain. The Saints, Jaguars, Raiders and Cowboys are still in the hunt. Johnson, who was Detroit’s offensive coordinator, picked the Bears on Monday, two days after the No. 1 seeded Lions lost to Washington.

With Mike Vrabel off to the New England Patriots and Ben Johnson reportedly joining the Chicago Bears, there are five remaining NFL head coaching vacancies for 2025 as of now. As we survey the five teams still looking for a head coach, a few candidates stand out as obvious hires for those jobs.

The Cowboys interviewed Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who played for the team and then served as Dak Prescott’s play-caller for four seasons. Dallas also interviewed former Jets coach Robert Saleh and former Vikings coach Leslie Frazier.

The New York Jets have hired Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn as their head coach, according to NFL Network and ESPN. Glenn, 52, has been the Lions’ defensive coordinator since 2021. He was a cornerback in the NFL for 15 seasons, from 1994 to 2008, mostly with the Jets and the Houston Texans.
