The Georgia Attorney General recently addressed suspicious texts allegedly from 'Peach Pass,' the state's toll collection system. Here's what we know.

Scammers have stolen thousands of dollars from Georgians with the faked Peach Pass texts, but the FBI believes the actual number of victims is much larger.

“They’re getting very creative. They’re actually using a portion of our domain, mypeachpass.com, which of course is how our customers are able to access their accounts, but they’re adding letters and other characters behind it,” said Peach Pass spokesperson Ericka Bayonne.

Since March 1, the number of complaints to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center reporting smishing texts from Georgia’s electronic toll collection system, Peach Pass, has jumped dramatically.
