REI Co-op is set to open a new store in Elk Grove, California, as part of a national expansion to support outdoor lifestyles.

REI Co-op will open at 9145 W. Stockton Blvd. in Elk Grove next year, the company said in an Oct. 18 news release. The specialty outdoor retailer plans to open a total of six locations in 2025 as part of “the company’s efforts to support the active lifestyles of its membership and outdoor communities,

REI released a list on Friday of six planned openings for 2025, which includes a location at 9145 W. Stockton Blvd. in Elk Grove. The 22,127-square-foot space in the Laguna Gateway center was last occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond, which closed in 2023 around the same time the home goods retailer filed for bankruptcy and closed all its 360 locations.
