Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson, who oversees the jail from which 10 inmates escaped, spurring a five-day manhunt, apologized for the first time Tuesday as she faced calls to resign.

The Orleans Parish Sheriff and other staff members have been subpoenaed by the district attorney's office as part of an investigation into an inmate escape, according to WDSU sources.
