The first event of 2025 officially has a field but the world No. 1 will not be there as originally planned. The PGA Tour on Friday released the names of the golfers committed to playing in The Sentry and there are 60 names on the list but Scottie Scheffler is not one of them as he has had to withdraw.

The injury is a tough break for Scheffler, who by missing the event at Kapalua is out of a chance compete in the season’s first signature event, with the field of 2024 winners and the top 50 finishers in the FedEx Cup standings vying for a total purse of $20 million and first prize of $3.6 million.

Scheffler’s agent Blake Smith said Scheffler’s next scheduled tournament will be The American Express from Jan. 16-19.
