Tropical Storm Leslie is the latest named storm
Tropical Storm Leslie formed in the Atlantic Wednesday night becoming the 12th named storm of the 2024 hurricane season. This storm will also stay far out to sea having no impact on Louisiana or the U.S. Hurricane Kirk also became the 3rd major hurricane of the season on Wednesday and became a category 4 storm on Thursday.

According to the National Hurricane Center’s 4 am Tuesday advisory, Leslie has reached new lows of intensity and has downgraded from a Category 1 hurricane to a tropical storm. Tropical Storm Leslie is 1335 miles west-northwest of the Southernmost Cabo Verde Islands, with maximum sustained wind of 70 mph. It’s moving 13 mph to the northwest.
