Tropical Storm Oscar formed on Saturday, the 15th named storm of this year’s Atlantic hurricane season and the second in less than a day. It’s expected to bring heavy rain to the Caribbean islands this weekend, including Cuba, which has been facing a nationwide electricity crisis.

Hurricane Oscar made landfall in the southeastern Bahamas and headed toward Cuba, an island beleaguered by a massive power outage.

Cuba’s ongoing power crisis could be deepened by Hurricane Oscar, a major storm that is predicted to bring flash floods, mudslides, and up to 15 inches of rain to some areas of the island.
