It’s unclear who shot a video of a construction excavator knocking down a large portion of the westbound Washington Bridge last Friday, sending debris slamming down onto two barges and into the Seekonk River.

And during the past eight years, three J.R. Vinagro workers have died on worksites, according to federal safety documents. J.R. Vinagro is the subcontractor to the lead contractor — Aetna Bridge — who was awarded the demolition contract for nearly $100 million on the westbound side of the Washington Bridge.

A large portion of the condemned westbound Washington Bridge heading into Providence, Rhode Island, was demolished, and although the state says the demolition went according to plan, others have raised concerns,

It might not be enough to make up for over a year of the traffic delays, late arrivals at work and general headaches, but a recently shared video of Washington Bridge demo is pretty satisfying.

A spokesperson would not discuss specifics but said the purpose of the inspection is to determine if there were any violations of OSHA workplace safety standards.
