Boston Mayor Michelle Wu proposed an ordinance that would crack down on illegal activity from food delivery drivers who ignore traffic rules and create “dangerous conditions” by zipping around city streets on scooters and mopeds.

The city received more than 100 311 complaints from residents in the past year about dangerous behavior by delivery drivers, Wu said.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu said Monday she has filed an ordinance with the Boston City Council requiring food delivery apps such as DoorDash, UberEats, and GrubHub to get a permit to operate in the city.
