President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday nominated billionaire Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta as U.S. ambassador to Italy, “The Apprentice” producer Mark Burnett as special envoy to the U.K. and David Fink as head of the Federal Railroad Administration,

British producer Mark Burnett, who helped Donald Trump reach international fame with the reality TV series The Apprentice, has been appointed by the president-elect as a special envoy to the UK. “It is my great honor to appoint Mark Burnett as the Special Envoy to the United Kingdom,

"With a distinguished career in television production and business, Mark brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role," Trump wrote.

The scope of Burnett’s diplomatic role was not immediately clear. Such posts are usually set up for countries where there are conflicts or the U.S. has no diplomatic presence.
