A Russian national was revealed to be the captain of the cargo ship that collided with an American tanker off the coast of England, spilling U.S. military jet fuel into the sea.

A Portuguese container ship has collided with a U.S.-flagged oil tanker while the tanker was anchored in the North Sea, with both ships catching on fire, officials said.

A BBC inspection of the oil tanker involved in the collision on North Sea has revealed the extent of the damage to the vessel. Justin Rowlatt said he could see a "huge gash" down the side of the Stena Immaculate from when the Portuguese-flagged cargo ship Solong collided with it off the East Yorkshire coast on 10 March.
