Officials closed dozens of schools and issued a boil-water advisory for southern parts of the county. They said several hundred thousand customers are affected.

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) has expanded the Boil Water Advisory in southern Prince George’s County. This advisory comes in response to a suspected water main break in the area,

Due to the large size of the water main break, many residents in southern Prince George’s County are experiencing low water pressure, and some areas may have no water at all. As a precautionary measure, WSSC Water has recommended that all affected customers follow Boil Water Advisory guidelines.

WSSC Water has issued a Boil Water Advisory (BWA) for all customers in southern Prince George’s County, south of MD 4 (Pennsylvania Avenue).

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY (Tuesday, February 11, 2025) – A boil water advisory is in place for some customers in Prince George’s County because of a water main break. WSSC says the impacted areas now including communities North and East of MD 4 along with all areas South of Maryland Route 4.
