The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame foundation announced the list of 14 performers who will be considered for induction on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Also on the ballot for the Class of 2025 are Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Maná, Billy Idol and the White Stripes, among others.

The nominations for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025 have been announced, and it’s certainly an interesting and downright random mix, with eight of the shortlisted artists — arena-rockers Bad Company,

The band are among 14 nominees, alongside Mariah Carey, New Order, Cyndi Lauper and White Stripes.

Never having a crossover hit seems to have doomed Iron Maiden from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame consideration, but it doesn't diminish their towering contributions. Eligible since 2004, these pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal have sold more than 85 million records.

The field of 14 nominees is filled out by six artists who have been nominated but not inducted in recent years. Mariah Carey and Oasis were both nominated last year, while Joy Division / New Order, Cyndi Lauper, the White Stripes and Soundgarden were most recently nominated in 2023. (Soundgarden was also nominated in 2020.)
