Stephanie Carlin of Rodin Carlin - a British manufacturer in the Formula 1 feeder series Formula 2 - said a lack of "ability" was not why women made up only 31% of the sport's workforce.

Speaking to RTÉ Sport last month, Dunne had spoken of his desire to secure one of the remaining F2 seats, with Rodin a particular target having tested with the team in Abu Dhabi in December.
