The plane went down Thursday morning along U.S. 301 near the Tampa Executive Airport, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

In a news release about 8:45 a.m., Hillsborough County Fire Rescue said a small aircraft had crashed near the Southwest Florida Water Management District office, at 7601 U.S. Highway 301 N., and was “fully involved in fire.” Firefighters had put out the flames, and crews were still on scene.
