Adrien Brody, 51, who won best actor both at the Oscars and at AARP's Movies for Grownups Awards, stars as a Hungarian architect and Holocaust survivor who comes to America and takes on a hugely ambitious commission that gets him involved with a charismatic industrialist (Guy Pearce).

But you don't just have to take it from the Academy, which also nominated the film for Best International Feature; filmmaking heavyweights like Wes Anderson, Alexander Payne, Guillermo del Toro, Barry Jenkins and Bill Hader have also thrown their praise behind it.
