Spanish authorities have revealed that Liverpool forward Diogo Jota was likely behind the wheel of a luxury sports car and travelling at excessive speed when he and his younger brother were killed in a fiery car crash in Spain last week.

“Futebol Clube Penafiel expresses its deepest sympathy for the tragic death of Andre Silva and his brother Diogo Jota, victims of a road accident in the last few hours,” the club said.
