There aren't many NFL records that have stood for more than 60 years. And when there is one, there's a good reason it has stood for so long. One such record is the rookie tight end receiving record. It has stood for 63 years.

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers’ first-year tour de force has hit more history. Bowers became only the third rookie tight end in NFL chronicle to record 1,000 receiving yards, accomplishing the feat Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Brock Bowers came into today’s game with 968 yards receiving on the season. Which means he needed 32 yards to reach the 1000-yard mark. He got exactly that on his first play of the game. And in true Brock Bowers fashion, most of that was on yards after the catch.

Both Brock Bowers and Malik Nabers are closing in on the NFL rookie record for catches. Plus, Luke McCaffrey breaks out as a kick returner.

The Giants did not practice on Christmas, as players were given the day off. If they did hit the field, though, Malik Nabers would not have participated, as he is dealing with a toe issue. That is the projection the Giants released on Wednesday.
