Dundee United hope to have midfielder David Babunski back from illness. But Louis Moult and Craig Sibbald remain out. Hearts hope to have winger Elton Kabangu, who has signed from Belgian club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, registered in time to be involved, while centre-half Jamie McCart has been signed from Rotherham United.

Both sides have scored in each of their last five league meetings between St Johnstone (seven goals) and Dundee (eight). After their 2-1 win in March 2024, Dundee could earn back-to-back top-flight away victories over St Johnstone for the first time since April 2002 (three in a row).
