More than 100 flood warnings are in place for England as yellow warnings for snow and ice are issued for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Britain is facing a New-Year ‘fog-out’ as freezing temperatures trigger a smoggy ‘atmospheric inversion’. As parts of the country reel from the weekend snow blitz, warnings have sounded for a fresh threat.
