Republican leaders struck a deal with key holdouts late Wednesday afternoon, making a number of key changes to President Donald Trump’s massive budget framework in an effort to get all corners of the party on board.

The Republican budget bill proposed by the House of Representatives could enforce major changes to Medicaid and SNAP, but there are also significant updates to federal student loans included in the bill.

Trump offered few details at the time, but later made similar pledges to eliminate taxes on other forms of income, including overtime wages and Social Security payments. Those ideas, along with a tax deduction for auto loan interest, are also included in the GOP’s budget bill.
