After another loss in Week 5, the New England Patriots are considering a change at the quarterback position. Head coach Jerod Mayo may be leaning toward starting rookie quarterback Drake Maye over veteran Jacoby Brissett this coming weekend against the Houston Texans. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the news on social media.

The Patriots had not had their full staff meeting as of 9:40 a.m. ET when Jerod Mayo was finished speaking to the media, so the head coach was not ready to announce whether Jacoby Brissett or Drake Maye would start at quarterback in Week 6 against the Texans.

The Patriots have lost four straight, and are averaging a meager 4.3 yards per offensive play. Van Pelt, who doesn’t have extensive experience as a player caller, and is more known for his work with quarterbacks and coordinating the offense, has admitted some mistakes along the way.
