Flags across the United States and at U.S. facilities worldwide will be flown at half-staff to honor the memory of His Holiness Pope Francis.

For six days in September, 2015, Pope Francis made a historic visit to the United States, visiting some of the country's biggest cities and speaking to massive crowds of the faithful along the way.

The Giro d'Italia will pay homage to the late Pope Francis by passing through the Vatican gardens behind St. Peter's Basilica and in front of the Santa Marta hotel during the final stage of the cycling race on June 1.
