Nearly 30% of all structure fires in the city are in vacant homes. Syracuse has nearly 1,350 vacant properties.

The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority said a review of security camera footage showed Hertz staff left the rental counter at 7:13 p.m., more than six hours before they were supposed to leave.
