(Reuters) -Hurricane Oscar is expected to reach Guantanamo or Holguin in Cuba later on Sunday as the island country struggles to restore power after its worst blackout in years, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

Hurricane Oscar is forecast to make landfall along the northeastern coast of Cuba Sunday afternoon or evening, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Oscar probably won’t be around long. After making a run westward at Cuba, it will begin turning north into Monday and weakening into Tuesday.

Oscar was also the eighth named storm to form since Sept. 24, breaking a record for most named storm formations between Sept. 24 and Oct. 19.

Hurricane Oscar formed Saturday off the coast of the Bahamas, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said. It characterized the storm as “tiny.” The government of the Bahamas has issued a hurricane warning for the Turks and Caicos Islands and the southeastern Bahamas.
