Vincent Trocheck gave the Rangers a 4-3 lead with just over seven minutes remaining when he tipped in a Mika Zibanejad shot from in front of the net — occupying the power-play spot that usually belongs to an injured Chris Kreider — for his second goal of the game to snap a brutal 1-for-31 stretch from the unit.

Alexis Lafreniere and Vincent Trocheck scored twice, but goalie Jonathan Quick fell short in his bid to get career win No. 400.

Jamie Benn scored on a power play 2:17 into overtime and the Dallas Stars rallied from an early three-goal deficit to defeat the struggling New York Rangers 5-4.

But the Rangers didn't make it easy on Quick, who was vying to become the first United States goalie to reach 400 career wins. After squandering a three-goal lead, the Rangers traded goals in the third period before losing 5-4 in overtime on Jamie Benn's powerplay goal.

Harley’s snap shot tied it 4-all at 17:21 of the third period following a terrible turnover by Rangers defenseman K’Andre Miller deep in his own end. Benn’s 11th goal came with Artemi Panarin in the penalty box for hooking and gave the Stars their only lead.

Seemingly on their way to a comfortable win on home ice, the New York Rangers instead blew a 3-0 lead early and a 4-3 lead late on their way to a 5-4 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars. Jamie Benn scored the game-winner with a power-play goal at 2:15 of overtime.
