WARREN, MI – An ice pick-wielding man was shot and killed by police officers in Warren. The shooting occurred near George Merrelli Drive and Lorna Avenue at 10:15 p.m. on Monday. Officers had tracked the suspect to the area after he fled a residence on Railroad Street following an alleged domestic dispute.

Police say when he was found, the suspect pulled out an icepick. As a response, an officer shot the man. He was taken to a local hospital by the Warren Fire Department and was pronounced dead. This is an ongoing investigation. The Warren Police Department said there is no threat to the community and no officers were hurt during the incident.
