I just installed my Maximus Z790 Extreme and connected six ARGB chassis fans to the ROG fan controller that came with the board. The fans are running and the RGBs are lighting up but the controller does not show up in Armoury crate and none of the fans are showing up.
Any way to control fan speeds on ROG laptop without Armoury hell?
WEBDec 13, 2021 · I also tried many "fan control" applications but alas, none of them worked. I don't really want to install Armoury crate again that bloats the OS with tens of services and processes. The thing is, it was pretty handy in controlling fan speeds. But I really want just fan control without Aura sync + ArmouryCrateService + etc.

WEBFeb 28, 2022 · Older version of AI Suite has still working Fan Xpert II, which is ASUS_AI_Suite_3_V3.00.62_WIN10_64-bit.zip. Had to sell my vivobook because of the lack of fan control. Even on the whisper mode, the laptop fan would speed up to 40% randomly. Now I have to buy gaming laptop that at least has fan control in the bios.

WEBMay 12, 2022 · This resulted in maybe 5% fps loss at worst but made my PC basically silent. (IIRC i use a 85% power budget for my 2080TI while also overclocking it). CPU and GPU temps usually hover around 60-90. I let them run quite hot so the fans kick in later and PC remains silent.
