Mar 11, 2024 · Overall, I don't know if your experience will be much different on Mardi Gras. The layout is totally different, but it's the same kind of experience overall. It'd be different if you were talking about Carnival's older ships for booze cruises, but the Vista should provide similar levels of service, options, and class as the Mardi Gras.

A lot of kids are on ladders anyway, so the height advantage is nullified. They have way more Mardi Gras ahead of them, you don't need to give them the beads from the limited number of Mardi Gras years left in your future. The peer pressure cringe.

Aug 15, 2023 · We've been on Mardi Gras twice and going on Celebration in September. Amount of kids usually depends on when you go, stay away from summer, spring break and holidays if possible to avoid large number of youngsters.

Mardi Gras is Uptown is much more low-key and family-friendly. This will become increasingly apparent as you travel west along St. Charles from Canal going toward Napoleon.

Mar 6, 2024 · If you want to do Mardi Gras like the locals (which you do), stay at a hotel along St Charles uptown. This will be right on the parade route and much better than downtown.

Mardi Gras is my favorite ship ever - loved the bars, the layout, and the whole New Orleans vibe - food was the best on any ship i've been on (Emerils, Street Eats, Big Chicken), just an awesome awesome cruise ship.
