Jan 16, 2021 · I just started playing Bloodborne a couple days ago as my first soulsborne game. After the initial struggling i farmed some levels and beat the cleric beast (12 tries i think) and father gascoigne after just 4 tries. Feeling good and starting to get the hang of this. The shotgun parry and visceral strike helped a lot, and of course the music box.

Jun 8, 2017 · Very much agreed with what you say, Gascoigne is kind of a tutorial boss for Bloodborne new gameplay flow and mechanics, seemingly tough but actually easy once you try to parry him, be aggresive etc. Edit: just wanted to add that he's probably one of the best bosses Fromsoft has ever designed, both mechanically and thematically.

The trophy for Father Gascoigne sits at 45%. That means that over 50% of new players never killed the first required boss of the game. Which also means that over 50% of players never got to experience much of this wonderful game. Because Father Gascoigne was too hard. It's not really a question of whether you and I find it too hard.

May 20, 2015 · I think 20 is fine, give it a shot and see. At that point VIT and your weapon level may be the most important thing. If you can get your weapon to +2 or +3 (by farming), and can learn to dodge/parry then Father G won't be so bad. But if that's problematic, then fuck it and level up. Play the game as you see fit, and get the most you can out of it.

Aug 31, 2023 · Parries are very helpful against Gascoigne. They're especially great for stopping him in his tracks when he's unleashing a flurry of attacks. In general, dodge towards/past him, not away since he has a lot of forward momentum to his attacks.
